If I had any doubt that Wikipedia is the right hand of GOD (and by GOD I mean Google, of course), tonight settled it for me.
Crushing all night on Javier Bardem (yeah, George, you are so out) by the time he kissed Tommy Lee Jones and that male model Brolin guy, took the stage and then charmingly made his mama cry, I wanted to know if he had ever been married. (I secretly hope it's Penelope Cruz again, because that is a hot fantasy couple. He's always answered questions about being gay with a "no," but then again Cruz was Cruise's beard for awhile, so who knows.)
Anyway. Javier left the stage cradling his Oscar. I went to imdb.com for a few seconds. Then I went to Wikipedia. WIKIPEDIA HAD ALREADY BEEN UPDATED TO SAY JAVIER HAD WON THE AWARD. Seriously. In a brief sentence neatly tucked flowingly within the awards paragraph. It's magic, I tell you.
Wikipedia can not tell me why pop people like Jessica Alba and Magpie Cyrus get to give out awards instead of stars like Susan Sarandon and her breasts, but I guess Wikipedia isn't perfect. Yet. I'm about to go check Tilda Swinton's Wikipedia page to see if it says she's the third award winner to be a verified intergalactic alien (the first being ET and the second being Renee Zellweger.)
Cate didn't win, but she'll survive, and sweet Marion Cotillard did in her white fish scale mermaid dress. She and Javier saved Hollywood post-writer's strike with their heartfelt kisses to the Academy, so regardless of what else happens, all is right with the world. I'm staying up until the champagne is gone, and not a moment more.

Deb, anyone, meaning fans or foes, can update Wikipedia. That's both the upside and the downside. That's why it's sometimes called into question as a reliable source.
It ain't IMDb.
Javier & his terrifying bowl cut totally earned that award.
As a slightly related aside, I read in a gossip sheet that he will be coming soon to a bed near you, together with Scarlett Johansen and Penelope Cruz. Some new Woody Allen movie. Scandalicious.
Tilda Swinton is definately a freaky looking chick, and will probably be questioned by NASA after tonight's broadcast.
The hive mind sure is fast, though! I will follow Javier anywhere, and Tilda almost anywhere. It's got to be on this planet. Maybe she's an elf?
He is an amazing actor - totally deserved the Oscar for that role. His accent makes him remarkably sexy too.
I first saw him in Entre las Piernas as a sex addict. Yummy. I realized his talent when I saw him in Mar adentro as a quadriplegic.
Kudos to him- an Wikipedia for being so damn fast. :)
[found you on Entrecard - burned feedburned you automatically]
I loved that John Stewart referenced imdb during one of his bits. The updating of the wiki is indeed remarkably fast.
Tilda Swinton is lovely, despite the handicap of her odd dress and general waxen appearance. Has Cate Blanchette ever won before? She so deserves.
He is sooo hot! And doesn't he look a lot like Jeffrey Dean Morgan that played Denny Duquette in Greys Anatomy? He is hot too ;)
He and Marion were adorable; if anyone should be a couple, it's those two.
Cate won for Aviator---Best Supporting Actress. I just don't know who could have won against the amazing reincarnation of Edith Piaf. Cate needs to pull a Nicole Kidman/Virgina Woolf thing. Get ugly!
Javier had me with Pedro Almodovar. I'd rather watch him in a Spanish film to hear him speak...
