Damn. I wish Heather would let me put a little spy receiver in her ear so that I could help her out of tricky PR jabs at bloggers coming from traditional media. Because they are going to come.
When Kathie Lee interviewed Mommyblogger Queen Dooce on NBC's Today show and was on the attack about exploitation/at-risk, instead of fumbling about New York, Heather could have said:
"Well, it's not like we are paying children in El Salvador pennies to sew and glue tacky Kathie Lee clothes for WalMart, mangling their limbs, spirits and innocence. How did you and your daughter Cassidy make peace with that, Mrs. Gifford?
Hey, idea, could we be like Kathie Lee? Is it even possible to hire third world children to blog for you? Because that would be very lucrative exploitation--I'll research it and let you know.

I'd pay bottom dollar to have an impoverished kid blog for me.
I'm afraid the improvement in grammar, spelling and lucidity would be a giveaway. Plus, there's no way they'd work as cheap as I do.
As for Kathy Lee and her ilk, hypocrisy has never been an impediment to quality reporting.

I couldn't get past her freaky plastic face. I also like any interview that begins with the interviewer basically stating, "I have NO clue about this topic, but I am going to judge it now."
Kathie Lee's just miffed that the new younger mommies are having their come-uppance, using HTML rather than Christian easy listening.
Nothing against Christian easy listening...HTML is just better at getting my whites whiter.
She's such a tool.
And that picture? Looks more like "Take Your Daughter to the Plastic Surgeon With You" Day.
Not only will they blog for you, you can pay them in viable potting soil.

That interview was indeed jaw dropping. Could Kathy Lee be more of a douchette? Not humanly possible.
